I wanted to let you know about my experience with you and your company for you to use anywhere/any way you wanted to. I bought my Badass Carbon fiber helmet in late Spring 2019. I was introduced to it by Renegade Motorcycles in York, PA. I was hooked once I tried it on. It was low profile, didn't look like a mushroom head and felt like I was 'taking care of business' by wearing a helmet since I have been a nurse for 25 years and have seen a thing or two. I have been riding for 5 years and recently tempted fate by saying I had never laid my bike down or had an accident. You can see where this is going...I laid my bike down in an accident, coming home from Gettysburg Bike Week ride. I was wearing Kevlar lined pants, my Badass helmet and had taken my Kevlar lined/armored jacket off because it was 'way too hot to wear'. It was a slow speed (accelerating from stop-about 15 mph) accident and my fault for leaning the bike while emergency breaking to avoid the rider in front of me. I knew better, but hadn't practiced it enough for it to be reflex. So, I broke my collar bone and had road rash on my shoulder and elbow. I was SURPRISED to see the scratch on the side of my helmet! I mean, obviously, my head hit, but you could not have convinced me if I hadn't seen the scratch. I had ZERO headache, ZERO neck pain and did NOT recall feeling any impact to my head at all. It literally felt like my head was not involved and my neck was supported fully. Fast forward past the ED visit and recovery of a broken bone...I reached out to the Badass company 4 days after the accident in email requesting a replacement per the warrantee. Lisa Buster, the COO of Badass helmets, replied the same day, CCing the DESIGNER Marix Stone. The first thing she said was, "I am so glad you're doing ok! What happened?...send a photo...we will be happy to replace your helmet! I need you to send the helmet back... Marix likes to examine every helmet when it’s been in an accident to see how it performed. It helps him design a better product." What?! Who replies the same day? Who starts off with "I am so glad you're doing ok!" and "we are happy to replace your helmet (at no charge to you)" and "we need your helmet to test and try to improve our product". I was floored!
So, I sent a photo, copy of the police report and copy of the receipt and drop the helmet in the mail a few days later. The replacement came 4 days later. I literally had a replacement helmet in 10 days...my road rash hadn't even healed, but I have no head injury, a pleasant and easy response from a company and a confidence in my brand new helmet that I cannot tell you enough about. It lived up to its branding-IT IS TRULY A BADASS helmet. Thank you, Badass helmets, Lisa and Marix for THE single most pleasant customer service interaction/business transaction and far superior product than I ever expected. Slow speed or not, this accident had potential to be tragic. Thankfully, it was NOT due to your commitment to excellence and your product that saved my pumpkin... (AND the driver behind me who stopped without squashing 'said pumpkin'). I am forever in your debt and will be telling anyone who listens about the entire experience.
Gratefully, DeAnna Jordan-lifelong rider and Badass helmet fan
